If you present with a localized concern, only the area of concern will be examined, if you come for a general check your doctor might request you to undress and remain only in your underwear. By the nature of skin disease being a field of study with subtle clinical clues, we do often request clients to undress and remain in their underwear. This allows your doctor to fully examine you and get a clinical impression of your overall skin health. Skin cancers in particular can occur anywhere and it is best if a professional screen you for this. If you choose to remain clothed, this is your choice and will be respected. Areas covered by the underwear are not routinely examined and you should alert your doctor to any concerns in this area.
You are welcome to bring your own gown/robe. The vast majority of clients do not wear a gown during an examination – but you should do what you are most comfortable with.
Our covid protocol (or any other infectious outbreak) will be managed as per the guidelines of the local authority and international suggested guidelines.
